• Historic Christ Church - In colonial Virginia, a church was not only for worship, but also served as a social center and a place for political discussions. Christ Church, built in 1735, is one of the best preserved colonial Virginia churches.

• Belle Isle State Park - Sitting along the Rappahannock River, this state park is noted for its many different areas. It has tidal wetlands, sandy beaches and open meadows—all interesting and very different from each other. You may want to attend one of the park's environmental education programs about astronomy or birding while you’re there.
