No trip to Stratford Hall Plantation would be complete without seeing The Miocene era Cliffs. The Cliffs are special, because they are a geological phenomenon that is found in only three other locations in the world—the Los Angeles basin, Austria and Belgium. The Cliffs are composed of compacted sea matter that dates back to the Miocene era. They stand 150 feet tall, and, through the years, people have discovered the remains of animals from that era. One of the more interesting fossils that people have found is shark teeth.
